"What was done to them is hard to take in"
A young couple were violently attacked in their West Midlands home and forced to transfer a large amount of cryptocurrency during a targeted robbery.
The couple, who were expecting their third child at the time, were attacked after returning to their home in Smith’s Wood, Solihull, at around 5:20 pm on December 13, 2025.
West Midlands Police said three masked men got out of a parked car and forced their way into the property as the couple opened their front door.
The male victim suffered significant injuries during the assault, while his pregnant wife was threatened with a knife.
The couple were then forced to transfer cryptocurrency into a digital wallet.
The attackers also stole several high-value watches before leaving the property in a vehicle believed to be a black BMW X3.
Police believe the incident was a planned and targeted attack, with instructions allegedly being passed to the offenders by a fourth person during a video call.
Detectives believe all the suspects were in their twenties, although their descriptions remain limited because they were wearing face coverings and hoods.
One suspect has been described as a Black man with a small diagonal scar beneath his left eyebrow.
Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for exclusive information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
West Midlands regional manager Alan Edwards said the incident had continued to affect the family.
He said:
“This was a young family, at home, weeks away from welcoming a new baby.”
“What was done to them is hard to take in, and the effects are still being felt every single day.”
He urged anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers, including people who may have heard about the attack afterwards or noticed someone suddenly spending large amounts of money.
He also appealed to anyone who may have seen a black BMW X3 in the area on December 13, 2025.
Crimestoppers said information can be provided anonymously, and callers do not need to give their name, make a statement or attend court.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack and are appealing for anyone with relevant information to come forward.
The appeal comes as detectives continue to piece together the events surrounding the attack and identify those responsible.
